If you are going to dream at all – you might as well dream big right!  Are you dreaming the impossible? If every-body had goals that were possible, wouldn’t we be living in a terribly dull world?

But the dullness would probably only be the start of things, there would be no cures to illnesses, no new countries ever found, no mountains climbed, no men on the moon, no automobiles, or aeroplanes or running water or light at the flick of a switch.

Have you ever thought about that?  If everyone only dreamed the possible, the realistic the ordinary the down-to-earth, matter of fact, practical things how would life ever progress?

Inventions are very rarely just Stumbledupon, they come from dreaming about something that is intangible to everyone else on the planet but which you have an undeniable belief in.  The Wright Brothers didn’t just hop in a tin bird and take off in the sky and Thomas Edison didn’t just pick up the first filament he could find and he presto build a lightbulb!

“I speak without exaggeration when I say that I have constructed 3,000 different theories in connection with the electric light, each one of them reasonable and apparently likely to be true. Yet only in two cases did my experiments prove the truth of my theory.”
Quoted in “Talks with Edison” by George Parsons Lathrop in Harpers magazine, Vol. 80 (February 1890), p. 425″

How honestly can you say you tried 3000 times to do something because you believed the impossible was actually possible?  Being unrealistic is what makes life worth living.  When someone tell me I am being unrealistic I feel quite happy with myself, I mean who would ever want to be unrealistic sounds like a pretty boring way to live to me.  I found this video on YouTube that you might like.

Next time someone tells you you’re being unrealistic, cross them off your list, pat yourself on the back and feel ever so smug inside. The Impossible should be what excites you, what makes you excel, achieve and dream and what will one day have you leave your stamp in this world. When are you going to have you Lightbulb moment?

Believe the Impossible,

Hi Beth, I think that the reason that we never let that kind of negativity bother us is because we have learned our own secrets to financial success. We have a plan to get better everyday. Most people have the dream but they never take the time to do the proper everyday strategies that make it work.

They still think that everyone is their prospect and that it’s an effective way to do business. It isn’t an effective technique and they need to take the time to do some research and see how to market themselves and lead people to a unique solution.

When they do find what really works they’ll really move forward faster than ever before because they have checked out all the theories that that lead to the ones that do.

I liked the video and looks like it’s something that takes leverage to a whole new level. Keeping in contact with your prospects that want to know more about you can build that relationship, trust not to mention pre selling people through effective marketing techniques and continue the follow up process.

Thanks for the great post Beth!

I couldn’t agree more. You gotta reach. If you are not reaching you are not trying. If you never fail then you are doing the same thing all the time. Big dreams make life worth living.

Great message Beth! You know I’ve been reading about this growing movement toward “not” having goals. Not that having some direction isn’t a good thing, but so often we create goals that actually limit us because we shoot too low rather than dreaming really BIG dreams. The part of me that can’t bare to go a day without my “to do” list trembles a bit at the thought of not having any actual goals to shoot for - but on the other hand I can see the logic behind not creating an artificial ceiling that might limit potential.

I do agree that when someone tells you, you are being unrealistic that it is time to move on… What do they really know when they say that? They aren’t you.. and chances are they have put them self in a box and said it isn’t safe out there.. Let’s be realistic!! I am all for going for the unrealistic!! Great post, Beth!
