Top Twitter Tips
When you are thinking about using Twitter for your business, you might be thinking that it’s a great way to promote your business and you would be right, Twitter is an easy way to communicate and an effective way to share current offers and promotions.
But before you get ahead of yourselves and start Tweeting, read my essential Top Twitter Tips to help you begin your new Twitter campaign.
Develop Your Strategy
So you are starting out on Twitter, who do you follow and more importantly why? You need to think of your target customer audience, are they likely to be using Twitter? Are you going to be using Twitter to promote you business, as a customer service tool or a customer relationship management system?
More importantly, are you going to be able to communicate effectively on behalf of your business via Twitter? When considering followers to target be sure to use a strategy that will help you connect with people in the same niche, area of interest or even location. For example if you are a Public Relations company, why not connect with journalists in the same area of interest and/or location.
Use Twitter Keyword Searches
Using Twitter Keyword searches will help you find and develop your audience. There are some free and paid services you can use such as Tweetdeck, Hootsuite or MarketMeSuite.
As well as being able to use these tools to carry out in depth searches. They are also great ways for you to listen in to conversions that are happening in real time and also those conversations that are relevant to you or even about you!
OK so by now you might be on Twitter, promoting your business with offers. Sure this is fine, but Twitter isn’t about one way conversions. Think in real life… does a conversion only happen one way?… NO!
The more you are interacting and creating engaging content, people will want to re-tweet your tweets and interact with you. If used correctly, Twitter can transform your business by communicating more humanly.
Twitter is a great tool for many types of businesses, so get into conversion. If people ask you questions about your business via Twitter, then respond to them effectively and reply back in good time. Twitter is a great way to communicate directly with your customers, so if you are not going to respond to them, Twitter will become ineffective for your company.
Ignoring conversations with customers and potential customers on Twitter could mean that your business will be missing out on opportunities too.
When sharing content on Twitter, it is important not to just self promote your own services and products but to also share quality content you have found on the web. Retweet other peoples content and try to come up with creative fresh content that your followers will want to Retweet.
