Are You Sending Video Emails?

Are You Sending Video Emails?
Digg Digg

Whether you are in business or not sooner or later everyone is going to be sending video emails.  How do I know?  Well let’s look at the facts.

Video is the fastest growing segment online. Since the domain You Tube was registered on Valentine’s Day 2005 You Tube has seen 490 million users jump on board.  There are over 92 billion page views each month and more video has been uploaded to you tube in 60 days than 3 major American TV networks created in 60 years.

And with the growing smart phone market it is no surprise that you tube mobile gets 100million views a day.  So what has this got to do with sending emails?

In the business world, video email creates engagement, trust and builds strong brand presence.  Businesses that build good customer focused relations and who have an emotional connection with their clients will reap rewards long term.

If you are a business, internet marketer or anyone that sends videos to friends, family or customers and prospects you might be surprised to hear that 63.9% of people will watch a video e-mail through to completion compared to just 8 seconds attention on a text based e-mail.

I don’t have to convince you of that, because we all flit through our inbox looking for a bit of excitement! In fact video is the single most effective form of communication more than text and pictures.

Why you should be sending video emails.

  • Effective E-mail Marketing Method
  • Increase customer retention
  • Increase your brand
  • Build strong relationships
  • Reach out to friends and family
  • Send personal messages for special occasions
  • Use them for appointment reminders, to say thanks,
  • Use them to showcase products and services
  • To offer rewards and offers
  • To provide team trainings
  • Be creative you can use them for pretty much anything!

So ask yourself this, why aren’t you sending video emails?  If you are still not sure, try out this FREE video e-mail service, try it out on friends, family and customers and reap the rewards.

Video is definitely the wave of the feature. It is being used more and more each day and the way it is being used is only as diverse as your imagination. There is so much you can do. As a business owner one can’t let this pass you by or else your competition will be taking your customers away from you because they’re using video to engage them.

Those YouTube stats are impressive! I completely agree that video is only going to continue to grow. It has always been a preferred way to demonstrate and receive a message because of it’s effectiveness. I will admit that I am still very camera shy, so while I don’t mind speaking in front of a live audience, I prefer not to speak to the camera on my desk to record personal messages. I’m trying to build up my confidence there though, I know its a great way to grow my business!

    Hi Beth,

I’ve been playing with video email over the past week or so and I’m floored by the results.

I sent a message to my list and the response and replies were really moving - most definitely the way to communicate, I believe the people I reached out to in that way feel they know me a lot better now and indeed they do.

I’ve also sent video to friends and family and they are very happy indeed! It made them feel as special as they are!

Video is becoming a must - people want to see who they’re dealing with!

    All the best,

    Emma :-)

Really nice comment, thanks for saying that. We should be mindful that this is a massive trend that is on a phenomenal growth right now. It is really important that people don’t see this as a fad but as something that is going to change the way we work online. Not just internet markerters but all public and private jobs. The fact that microsoft have bought skype suggests this shouldnt be overlooked.

    Hi Beth,
I love this post! You lay out all the facts so clearly. And you know it’s true. Video really does engage people in a way that simple text cannot. In fact I read a statistic that said within 3 years 90% of web-based communication will be via email. Because now we have the technology to be able to communicate fast, effectively and affordably using video.
I particularly resonate with your comment: “… because we all flit through our inbox looking for a bit of excitement!” It’s true - forget surfing the web - I surf my inbox looking for the stuff I might want to read!
I have been using video email myself recently, mainly to reconnect with friends and business colleagues and the comments are unanimous: “What a lovely personal email, thanks for sending it” - when was the last time someone said ‘thank you’ to you for sending a regular email?
I’m having fun playing with all the tools and dreaming up new ways to use video marketing in my business. Would love to hear your (and others comments) on how it works for you :)
    Thanks for sharing :)

I think you have hit the nail on the head! The great thing about video and communication is that you use it for pretty much anything. At the end of the day we are all social beings so we all have something to say, emotions to share and a desire to be heard.

    Great Stuff,
    Beth :)

There’s also Vimeo and other video tools you can use. There’s so many reasons reasons why video is an effective marketing tool and why we should be taking advantage of them.
