So on this penultimate day of the course, I really wanted to concentrate on a myth that if we don’t eradicate from our subconscious, will set us up for failure in our businesses.
This myth is: Its rude to talk about money.
Now, if you have stuck with the course for the last 9 days you will have noticed that I have been talking about money and wealth. I really hope you can see my authenticity and not consider me someone who is money mad or materialistic.
The fact of the matter is, people don’t like to hear about other people bragging about how big their house is, how many cars they own or how many vacations they have been on this month.
Yet at the same time, if we don’t learn the money lingo we really aren’t going to get very far in the business world. Whatever your niche or business, you need to get accustomed with the financial conversation and jargon.
I understand if you don’t want to come across as rude by discussing money with your friends and family, but consider striking up conversations with likeminded people in forums, on social networks like twitter, Facebook and Linkedin.
Read up on the economics and the basic governance of money online, in the news, at your library on the TV or radio. Hey Talk to me!
What I am trying to say is if you want to position yourself as a successful business person you need to embrace the lingo and join the conversations.
