As you have probably guessed from the title. I am not going to write a post on anything business related, anything social media or network marketing. No today I shall write what I have coined an ‘authentic me’ post….I might change that it’s not very catchy.
So the idea about an ‘authentic me’ blog post is simply that…a post about me. Whether it is in the style of a diary, a funny story, inspiration and feeling from a film I have seen or something I remember from my past. I want to be able to share with you elements of my authentic me from my everyday life.
The reason why this is so important to me, is that I am a multi-faceted being. I am not just a mum, a blogger an internet marketer, a girlfriend a bad cook. No I am Beth Hewitt and I want everyone who follows me, joins me in business and works with me to know Beth Hewitt and for that to happen, I need to be able to show my ‘authentic me’ as often as possible.
So here goes. Today I want to share something with you that I think is hilarious. You might not think it is, but if I make even the tiniest little smile I have reached my goal of making one person laugh each day.
May I introduce to you three very special people who I share my life with right now. They are so important to me and my family that they eat with us, they sleep in our home, they watch their own TV shows and I have even shared a bath with them!! Yes please enjoy this little video I put together to introduce you to yours truly. Fred, Mandy and Gordon.
These three wonderful characters have come into my life and totally awakened the imagination of my daughter Leigha which is absolutely wonderful. She sleeps with them, talks to them ( I have to do the voices), plays with them, takes them on outings, carries them in her dressing gown pocket, plays hide and seek with them and reads to them.
These Frogs make my family so complete, it’s absurd I know. In the last week I have learnt so much from my daughter, she likes nothing more than to make people laugh.
Last week I asked Leigha what she wanted to do. She said she would like to ride grandmas on her scooter. Grandma lives about 2 miles away; not too far away but 5 year olds, a flashing scooter and tired legs aren’t always the best combination. But intent on listening to my intuition I said yeah why not.
“Can I bring my Kazoo Mummy”
“Erm yes OK” I said…am I crazy, now I have a 5 year old a flashing scooter and a kazoo!
“Can I bring some toys and books”
“OK”
What was I letting myself in for?…But I have to admit I was some what excited about our pending expedition.
Whilst I got myself ready I could hear the tiny footsteps up stairs taking much longer than I had anticipated. I shouted up the stairs.
“Leigha are you ready?”
“Yes Mummy” She called down.
“OK…lets go then”...My jaw hit the floor as I see Leigha puling something big and pink behind her
“What’s that Leigha?”
“It’s my suitcase mummy to put all my toys and books in for grandmas”
I laughed out loud. Whilst today I was up for most things, I had to draw the line at a 5 year old, a flashing scooter, a kazoo and a suitcase filled with toys, although it would have been highly amusing to see the faces of the people passing by.
“You can take your monkey ruck sack” I said as a compromise.
“OK Mummy, but can I bring Fred , Mandy and Gordon?”
“Yes OK!!”
….and so we set off on our adventure. The walk was lovely each time we saw a dandelion clock we had to stop and blow it to see what time it was.
Leigha scootered along, asking every so often If I could pass her, her Kazoo to play a tune on. After a while I realised that there was a pattern emerging.
“Leigha” I said
“Are you asking me to pass you the Kazoo every time we pass by someone?”
“Yes Mummy”
“Why are you doing that?”
“Because I want to make them laugh; they might be sad and I can make them happy”
At that moment I felt an enormous amount of pride that my little superstar had already discovered the gift of being a ‘Go-Giver’. She was right , what person on this planet couldn’t resist smiling at a 5 year old, wearing a monkey ruck sack, riding a flashing scooter and playing a Kazoo. GENIUS.
Here is the clip to see what I mean…I am sorry the quality of the video isn’t great…technology wouldn’t upload from my phone today so I had to shoot a video from my camera as soon as I get my phone working again I will upload the genuine film. But I couldn’t not share with you my special day.
There is no moral really for this post. If you have taken any message from my ‘authentic me’ post then I am absolutely delighted. I just wrote about what is happening in my life right now and what is happening in my heart. It would be wonderful If I could inspire others to write ‘authentic me’ posts. As I truly would like to know more about all of my readers, friends, followers and fellow bloggers.
Thank you for reading, I would love to read your comments,

It’s no wonder your little one loves those frogs - they are soooo cute! Not as cute as she is though. I think there IS a moral to this story, two in fact - listen to your intuition and just as important, listen to your child’s intuition! What a precious gem you have there. Only five and she wants to make the world a better place!

haha I love this Beth! You’ve definitely done a great job with raising her to be a “Go-Giver” and she most likely learned it from another go-giver aka YOU! So great job!

Those frogs are so cute!!! As is Leigha. Thank you so much for sharing a more personal side of your life. Reminds me of my 16 year old daughter BEFORE she became a teenager, though she lets that warm and fuzzy side out sometimes with me still.
I think it’s really important to connect and reveal this part of ourselves as well, as it is certainly what motivates us to work so hard at the other aspects of life. We don’t work to work, we work to open our hearts, touch lives, and be there for our people, our families.
Thanks so much,

Hey Melodie,
Thanks for the comment. I used to collect frogs when I was little so she obviously gets her love for them from me. The funny thing is I never told her that I collected them so its kinda strange!
She also collects buttons lol…I am not sure where she gets that from??? Definitely not Daddy!

Beth,
We loved the post and the video. Reminds us of when our 16 year-old daughter was just 5.
We find it so amazing how much we can learn from our children. A lot of times we find they have wisdom well beyond their years, and they actually follow through with it - just as your daughter did to make people smile. She definitely made us smile.
Thank you for sharing you! And you’re right, we should all do more of that.
Thanks,
