Have you ever been asked the question, where would you like to be in 5 years time. I know I have many times. Sometimes I have had a vision and a plan and other times I haven’t.
If you are focused towards producing an ideal future for you and your family, goal setting is a very powerful process to get your life on track. Goal setting also motivates you to make your dreams a reality
You see if you know where it is exactly that you would like be heading, you will know where you need to be focusing your energy and effort. Having focus also allows you to stop being distracted by other less productive activity. The more you start to achieve, the more confident you will become as you head towards your ultimate success.
Now 5 years is a nice number. It’s not too long and it’s not to short. It is ample time to manifest amazing things into your life. It allows you to work on many different areas of your life, and learn many new skills. It is also the age of my daughter. At the age of just 5 years of age, it really amazes me how much children can learn grow and accomplish.
From their first words, baby teeth, new words, learning colours, shapes, learning to crawl and walk. Learning how to socialise with others, how to communicate with others, how to play, how to conduct themselves, how to be polite, how to read and write. I mean this is just a tiny list of what any 5 year old accomplishes in their first years of life.
Yesterday, was one of the proudest days I have ever shared with my 5 Year old Leigha to date. Not only did she win her first ever football trophy (Soccer for you American Folks!), but she also sang on Karaoke for the first time in front of loads of people.
At the Under 6′s Norristhorpe Junior Football Club Presentation Night after the speeches and handing out of trophies, the kids were treated to Karaoke. A lot of the older kids in the Under 7′s squad had been getting up and singing songs.
Leigha kept saying…” please mummy can I have a go”
Me: ”Oh I don’t know Leigha…you might not know all the words”
Leigha “Please mummy, you can help me”
Me: “Maybe next year Leigha, when you have practised and know all the words.”
Leigha: “No mummy please”
Daddy: “Let her have a go if she wants…”
Now we don’t usually undermine each other when we are doing the whole parenting thing, but something inside of me, made me feel like this was an ok thing to do.
Me: Ok…and I will help you.
So this brings me back to you, if my bambino can win her first football trophy and stand up and sing in front of loads of people after 5 short years on this planet. what kind of things are you going to achieve in the next 5 years. If a 5 year old can do it…so can YOU!!!

I love your posts about your daughter. You are BOTH amazing! This one really makes me think. Leigha’s only been here five years - in another five years, she’ll be ten. What a change that will be - then in another five years, she’ll be wearing makeup and giggling at boys!
Super motivation for us old folks to get out of our rut and do more with our lives during each set of five years!! My next birthday has two fives in it. I’m going to save a picture of Leigha to remind me to make those five years bold and beautiful!

You’re bambino is the best! I hope we all have the passion to take life by the horns like she does and make things happen instead of wondering why things dont happen! You should be so proud of her - and you’re out here rocking it making her proud of you! She’s got a great mommy!
